The Glee Club and Purduettes will each be featured in separate concerts in May, wrapping up the year for Purdue Musical Organizations. The Purduettes Spring Show will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 1, at the Long Center for the Performing Arts, 111 N. Sixth St., Lafayette. The performance will feature the varsity-level female singing group performing a range of music, from classical to popular pieces. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students. The End-of-Season Glee Club concert will start at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, at Loeb Playhouse. The Glee Club, a varsity-level male performing group, also will perform a variety of music, from classical to current. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students. "Both groups have been performing together all year and will bring the many hours of practice and performance experience to a new height of professionalism with these final concerts," said Bryan Hughes, PMO alumni and public relations coordinator. "With more than 100 performances per year, this year's seniors have performed on behalf of Purdue nearly 500 times and have traveled nearly 100,000 miles to those performances." These season-ending performances have become a campus tradition and are a way for seniors to say goodbye to classmates in the presence of their families. Seniors graduating this year have sung at Carnegie Hall, China and the Crystal Cathedral, among hundreds of other performances.
