The Latino Cultural Center at Purdue University will celebrate its first year with a family day, "Dia de la Familia," on Saturday (4/17). The center, at 503 Harrison St., in Building B of South Campus Courts, was established in 2003 as a place for people to learn about and share Latino culture. Dia de la Familia, which will feature free food and family activities, will be from 1-3 p.m. at the center. "The Latino Cultural Center and Dia de la Familia are not only for Spanish-speaking people, but for everyone who has an appreciation of Latino language and culture," said center director Maricela Alvarado. "We welcome Purdue students, faculty and staff as well as people from the community to come to this and other events and programs at the center. It's going to be a big celebration.
