February 18, 2004 Super Scientific Circus to offer two public showsWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Super Scientific Circus will bring a blend of entertainment and science education to Purdue University with 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. performances on Friday, March 12, at Loeb Playhouse. Super Scientific Circus is a two-man show starring Mr. Fish and mime Trent Arterberry. The pair combines theatrics and humor to teach the scientific principles behind seemingly impossible circus acts. Using boomerangs, bubbles, beach balls, bullwhips, magic and mime, kids of all ages will learn about friction, inertia, centrifugal force, aerodynamics, sonic booms, air pressure and ultraviolet light. There are opportunities for audience participation as Mr. Fish and Trent the Mime demonstrate easy-to-do home experiments. Super Scientific Circus' creator, John Lepiarz, also known as Mr. Fish, is a former Big Apple Circus clown, variety artist and master of ceremonies. He has been recognized at the International Circus Festival and featured on ABC and HBO circus specials. His assistant Trent Arterberry plays Trent the Mime. Arterberry has headlined on the QE2 and SS Norway and has toured with Julio Iglesias and B.B. King. Tickets for the 1 p.m. matinee are $5. Tickets to the 7 p.m. performance are $8 for children under 19 and Purdue students and $12 for adults. Ticket prices include service fee. Tickets are on sale by calling (800) 914-SHOW.
