The Technical Information Service and the Boiler Volunteer Network will be in the spotlight on Monday, Feb. 16, at Purdue University's next Engagement Forum. The forum, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 3-4:30 p.m. in Stewart Center, Room 314. Kimberly L. Martin, the assistant dean of students for community engagement and involvement, and Technical Information Service manager Suzanne Ward will outline the services their organizations provide to the community. "The purpose of the Engagement Forum is to highlight the many departments and organizations at Purdue who realize our commitment to use our university resources for the betterment of others beyond campus," said Don K. Gentry, vice provost for engagement. "The Boiler Volunteer Network and Technical Information Service both have made a tremendous impact in serving both the corporate community and various service organizations. They make Lafayette-West Lafayette a better place to live and to conduct business." The Technical Information Service assists businesses by researching hard-to-find answers to technical questions. Its staff also can supply articles and books from the Purdue University Libraries' collection. The Boiler Volunteer Network links Purdue students, staff and faculty with volunteer opportunities at more than 30 agencies throughout Lafayette and West Lafayette.
