'Discover Purdue' TV program continues into February

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue University's weekly news and feature magazine television program, "Discover Purdue," moves into February with a varied slate.

Guests on the four programs airing in February include Terry Strueh, Purdue vice president for governmental relations, and women's swimming coach Cathy Wright-Eger the first week; Discovery Park director Charles Rutledge and student government President Matt Morgan the second week; Riall Nolan, dean of international programs, and basketball player Kenneth Lowe the third week; and agronomy department head Craig Beyrouty and softball player Andrea Hillsey in the fourth program.

The half-hour program has 13 installments for statewide distribution. Each program includes a campus news update, feature segments and two studio interviews. It also is available on the World Wide Web.

Presented jointly by Information Technology at Purdue and the Office of University Relations, the program is scheduled to air weekly through the end of March.

The program appears on four PBS television stations in Indianapolis, Merrillville, Fort Wayne, and Evansville, reaching a total audience of more than 1 million, plus millions more on cable systems throughout Indiana, the Chicago area and one county in Kentucky.

In Lafayette-West Lafayette, the program is seen every Saturday at 4 p.m. on WFYI-TV (Channel 20) and every Tuesday at 11 a.m. and Saturday at 7 p.m. on Insight Communications Cable (Channel 13). On Purdue's West Lafayette campus, the program airs every Monday and Friday at noon and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7 p.m. on Purdue Video Channel (Channel 4), the Purdue Channel on Insight Communications (Channel 5) and the University Residences Television Antenna System (Channel 15).

Outside the Lafayette-West Lafayette area, the program will be seen as follows:

• Indianapolis area on WFYI-TV (Channel 20) every Saturday at 4 p.m. as well as on Ideas! (20.3 digital) every Saturday at 10 a.m., 4 p.m. and 10 p.m.

• Northwest Indiana and Chicago area on WYIN-TV (Channel 56) every Sunday at 7:30 a.m. CST.

• Fort Wayne area on WFWA-TV (Channel 39) every Sunday at 6:30 a.m.

• Evansville area on WNIN-TV (Channel 9) every Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
