Comedy improvisation competition promises laughs

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Tickets go on sale Monday (1/26) for Improvathon, an intercollegiate comedy improvisation competition benefiting Purdue University's Big Brother/Big Sister program.

Improvathon, sponsored by the Purdue Student Union Board and Purdue's comedy team, Crazy Monkeys, will be from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. starting Friday (1/30) in the Purdue Memorial Union North Ballroom. Advance "Fastpass" tickets that permit guests to skip the line and sit in reserved seats are available for $5 in Purdue Memorial Union, Room 268. Guests with $3 tickets, which will be sold at the door, will have to wait in line if the ballroom is full.

Seven college comedy groups will battle it out for the championship title. Groups include: Crazy Monkeys and Ship of Fools, Purdue; Full Frontal, Indiana University; Spicy Clamato and De Bono, University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign; Your Mom, Michigan State University.
