Moscow Festival Ballet to present 'Cinderella' at Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Moscow Festival Ballet will bring "Cinderella" to the Elliott Hall of Music stage at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25.

The storybook classic "Cinderella," presented by Purdue Convocations, will be under the artistic direction of Sergei Radchenko. The company of 60 performers will tell the rags-to-riches story in a three-act with music by Sergei Prokoflev and choreography by Rostislav Zakharov.

Since its inception in 1989, the Moscow Festival Ballet has completed two tours of the United States, two tours of Europe and performed at festivals in Turkey, Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong. In addition to commissioning new works from within Russia and abroad, the company specializes in 20th century full-length ballets such as "Cinderella," "Romeo and Juliet," "Legend of Love" and "The Golden Age."
