Faculty and staff honors

– James A. Papke was honored April 28 with a Sagamore of the Wabash award. He is retiring this year as a professor of economics and director of the Center for Tax Policy Studies in the Krannert School of Management. He is former president of the National Tax Association and has been an adviser on tax policy for every Indiana governor and Legislature since coming to Purdue in 1962.

Alumni honors

– Krista L. Kraemer of New Albany, Ind., received the School of Consumer and Family Sciences' Outstanding Young Professional Award for 2001. Young, who earned a bachelor's degree in child development and family studies from Purdue in 1995, is a teacher at The Family Place, a child abuse treatment center.

– Patricia Ayers Gallucci of Los Angeles, Calif., has been presented with the School of Consumer and Family Sciences' Community Service Award for 2001. Gallucci earned a bachelor's degree in home economics in 1951 and has spent more than 40 years working as a volunteer for political and consumer organizations at both the local and state level.

– Daniel Finn of Washington, D.C., is the recipient of the School of Consumer and Family Sciences' Friend of Purdue Award for 2001. Finn earned a bachelor's degree in industrial management in 1972 and currently serves as director of human resource change management for Marriot International.
