Alumni Association offers new online recruiting service

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue Alumni Association recently announced the creation of Purdue eProNet Direct Search, an online recruiting service for Purdue alumni.

"Finding qualified employees is a challenge for all businesses in our Internet-driven economy," said Purdue Alumni Association Executive Director Lawrence Preo. "The Purdue Alumni Association wants to assist employers and alumni in finding and retaining talent, and Purdue eProNet is part of that solution."

Purdue eProNet is part of eProNet, a consortium that began at Stanford University and grew to include alumni associations at Purdue and 17 other top U.S. schools. The service is free for alumni and available to employers for a nominal fee.

The database contains more than 100,000 experienced professionals in engineering, science, technology, marketing, sales, business development and finance. All candidates in the database are graduates of universities whose alumni associations have entered into a partnership with eProNet. On average, the graduates have 10 years of professional experience.

"We think our alumni will find Purdue eProNet very valuable because all major technical employers are using the site," said Rita Zawisza, director of partnerships and special projects for the Purdue Alumni Association. "The alumni association is underwriting the cost involved in maintaining the Purdue site because we think Purdue alumni will benefit from the partnership."

Other services on the site include career advice, resume writing tips and up-to-date information on employer trends.

The Purdue Alumni Association, founded in 1878, is a membership-based organization. eProNet is privately held and backed by Warburg Pincus Ventures in San Mateo, California. The alumni associations partnered with the company are shareholders and board members.
