December 8, 2000 Purdue Convocations announces staff appointments WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Director Todd Wetzel has announced three new appointments to the Purdue Convocations' senior staff. Laura Clavio has been promoted to assistant director. Her responsibilities include booking, production and education activities. She also will serve as advisor to the Student Concert Committee. Clavio previously was the department's education and production coordinator. Larry Sommers has been hired as assistant director for marketing. He will be responsible for all marketing, advertising and media relations for Purdue Convocations. Previously, Sommers was assistant director for marketing and promotions for Purdue’s Division of Recreational Sports. Jesica Webb is the new director of development and will oversee the solicitation of gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations. Webb previously worked as marketing coordinator for Purdue’s University News Service. "We’re thrilled to make these important additions to our staff," said Wetzel. "I know that the combined skills and experiences of these three individuals will go a long way in helping Convos move in exciting new directions."
