'Battle for the Bucket' posters
given away Thursday & Friday

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Commemorative "Battle for the Bucket" posters will be given away on the Purdue campus Thursday (11/16) and Friday (11/17).

The posters, designed by University Marketing Communications, will be given away at the pep rally starting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Slayter Center of Performing Arts and all day Friday at the Visitor Information Center.

Purdue football coach Joe Tiller, Purdue Pete, Rowdy, cheerleaders, the Boilermaker Special and celebrities will join the Purdue's pep band for the rally.

Free popcorn, hot chocolate and hot cider will be provided by the Office of Housing and Food Services. The event is sponsored by seven student groups.

Purdue will take on the Indiana University Hoosiers Saturday (11/18) in Ross-Ade Stadium. Kickoff will be at 3:30 p.m.

The two teams will be playing for the Old Oaken Bucket, one of the nation's oldest football trophies. The presentation of the trophy dates back 75 years and the bucket is more than 100 years old.
