November 3, 2000 Annual London trip to feature theater, architectureWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Purdue University's annual educational travel program to London will focus on the performing arts and architectural history. Theater professor Kristine Holdvedt and Matthew Kubik, a professor of architectural engineering technology at IUPUI-Fort Wayne, will lead the tour for the third consecutive year. The 2001 London program is scheduled to coincide with Purdue's Spring Break, March 9-17, but is open to anyone who wishes to attend. The tour is sponsored by the Center for Lifelong Learning and the Department of Visual and Performing Arts. The itinerary includes an organized art, architecture and theater experience with ample personal time. The tour cost is $1,995 and includes round-trip airfare, double-room accommodations near Kensington Gardens, transportation between the airport and hotel, a week-long pass for the London Underground, continental breakfasts, welcome dinner and a pub lunch, tickets to three evening theater performances, entrance fee to Shakespeare's Globe Theatre Museum, a half-day sightseeing tour of London and travel health insurance, plus departure taxes. The tour is limited to 25 people and reservations are being accepted on a first-come basis. A $200 deposit, refundable until Dec. 10, will hold your reservation.
