In IndianaPurdue University is hosting this workshop in Miami County, home of circus barns, the farms of Cole Porter, the treaty houses of Miami Indian chiefs, and home of Frances Slocum. The workshop starts at 9 a.m. at the Blair Point Elementary School in Peru, Ind. It ends at 4:30 p.m. after a tour of five barns. The cost is $25 per person, which includes lunch and a packet of materials. Registration is due by Nov. 6 and the form must be obtained from Janet S. Ayres, assistant director for Leadership and Extension Community Development. Recent tax developments will be discussed, including new legislation; recent court rulings and cases; and tax laws taking effect for the 2000 and 2001 tax years. Anticipated fees are $198 with the early registration discount. The dates and locations are: Nov. 13-14 South Bend, Ind., Century Center. The all-day workshops, at three locations, will help people better understand crop management. Dates and locations are: Nov. 13 Post Harvest Education & Research Center, Agronomy Research Center, US 52 North, West Lafayette, Ind. There is a $70 preregistration fee, due by November 5. On-site registration is $80. Space is limited and preregistration is recommended. Lunch is not provided.
