Purdue students offer hospitality to communityPurdue students are learning to give back to the Greater Lafayette community by working with local groups through a Hospitality and Tourism Management class. During the next two weeks, student groups will be involved in a variety of service-based efforts that give them the opportunity to be involved in off-site quantity food service activities while enabling them to engage in community activities. One group will be teaching elementary school children about healthy snacking at 3 p.m. on the following dates: Thursday, Oct. 12 Washington Elementary School Monday, Oct. 17 Miller Elementary School Tuesday, Oct. 18 Hannah Elementary School Throughout the semester, other groups will be working with Lafayette Urban Ministry, the Salvation Army, and the YWCA's shelter for battered and abused women.
