September 23, 2000 Indiana seniors named homecoming royalty at PurdueWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Two Purdue University seniors, both from Indiana, have been named homecoming king and queen. A. Todd Williams, Terre Haute, is the homecoming king, and Katherine A. Dunlop, Elkhart, is homecoming queen. The winners were announced today (Saturday, 9/23) during halftime of the Purdue-Minnesota football game. Williams, a mechanical engineering major, is the son of Brenda and Jerry Williams and is a graduate of Terre Haute South High School. He has been active in Sigma Alpha Epsilon social fraternity, serving as president, vice president, rush chairman and pledge educator. He also has been involved in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, Golden Key, and Skull and Crescent societies. He has been on the Dean's List throughout his college career and has earned numerous scholarships. Dunlop, an industrial management major, is the daughter of Cynthia and Robert Dunlop and is a graduate of Mishawaka Marian High School. She has been active in Chi Omega social sorority, serving as vice president and treasurer. She is a member of Order of Omega, Golden Key and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. The other homecoming king finalists were Brian Coogan, a senior from Wood Dale, Ill., majoring in management; Andrew Forti, a senior from Evansville, Ind., majoring in chemical engineering; John J. Lucas, a senior from Fishers, Ind., majoring in communication; and John B. Waltz, a senior from Leawood, Kan., majoring in movement in sports science. The other homecoming queen finalists were Nicole Butler, a senior from Decatur, Ill., majoring in speech pathology; Mary Ann Coleman, a senior from Danville, Ind., majoring in management; Lauren S. Mitchell, a senior from Park Ridge, Ill., majoring in telecommunications; and Jordan E. Sproat, a senior from Jupiter, Fla., majoring in public relations. The finalists were selected through a campuswide vote. Finalists were interviewed by a panel of judges this week. Voting results and judges' evaluations determined the winner.
