October 12-14: Conference For Forest LandownersA conference focusing on the importance of financial management to the forestry industry will be held at Indiana University Southeast, New Albany, in the University Center Building. Sessions will be held on a variety of topics, from forest herbs to buying and selling development rights. The event is sponsored in part by Purdue Extension and the Purdue Forestry Department. Registration is $65 per person, which includes two lunches, breaks, conference materials, banquet and tour of the Forest Discovery Center. Additional family members may attend the event for $45 each, but they will not receive conference materials. There also is a daily rate available. Registration deadline is Oct. 6. October 26-27: Technology For Today'S Septic Systems: A Public ForumPurdue University and the Indiana Onsite Wastewater Professionals Association (IOWPA) are sponsoring a conference for wastewater professionals and homeowners on non-traditional septic systems. Sessions will be offered on pretreatment systems such as constructed wetlands, filters and aeration treatment systems. The event will be held at the Kokomo Convention Center. Registration fee is $25 ($30 after Oct. 11) and includes a three month membership in IOWPA.
