The highlight of this tour is the addition of pianist Jon Nakamatsu. Originally from California, Nakamatsu was the 1997 gold medal winner in the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, the first American in 16 years to achieve this honor. Throughout his career, Nakamatsu has performed with orchestras around the world including the Boston Pops, the New World Symphony, and orchestras from Dallas, Detroit, San Francisco, Honolulu, Seattle and San Jose, Calif. The quintet will play in 16 venues this October as part of its American tour. The program to be performed includes "Adagio and Allegro in F-minor" and "Quintet for Piano and Winds" by Mozart, "Serenade for Wind Quintet" by Jolivet, and "Sextet for Piano and Wind Quintet" by Poulenc.
