September 8, 2000 PMO presents 'Concert on the Hill'WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Bring your picnic basket and blanket along to Purdue Musical Organizations' "Concert on the Hill" Sunday, Sept. 17, at Slayter Center of Performing Arts. The 3 p.m. outdoor performance will feature the combined voices of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club, Purduettes, University Choir, PMO Express and the Purdue Bell Choir. "Some of these students will be singing publicly with PMO for the first time," said Brian Breed, PMO director. "The 90-minute performance at Slayter Center is a way for us introduce the campus and community to the different PMO ensembles and to showcase their talents." The informal event is free and open to the public, and is co-sponsored by the Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union and Elliott Hall of Music. The 250 singers that comprise PMO will perform a broad variety of music. Purdue has no school of music, so nearly every academic major is represented in the organization.
