WBAA-AM to air monthly conversations
with President Jischke
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. New Purdue University President Martin C. Jischke will inaugurate a monthly series of live radio appearances on Purdue radio station WBAA-AM920 on Wednesday (9/6) afternoon.
WBAA listeners will have the opportunity to listen and call in questions when Jischke is the guest on the station's "AM920 Magazine" during the 2-3 p.m. hour of Wednesday's program. Jischke will visit the WBAA studios for the live program on the first Wednesday of each month during the 2000-2001 academic year, except in November, when his appearance is set for Nov. 8.
WBAA manager Dan Skinner said his first interview with Jischke will focus on the new president, his background, early impressions of Purdue and the Greater Lafayette community, and his vision for the university.
Local listeners may call in questions at (765) 496-1999. Out-of-town listeners may call toll-free, (888) 922-2101.
The station's AM signal reaches about two-thirds of Indiana, and is heard globally via the Internet.
Skinner said, "Dr. Jischke's monthly visits are part of his effort to share his mission with listeners around the state, and will give him the opportunity to hear Hoosiers' views about the issues that affect not only Purdue constituencies, but also the university's important role in the state of Indiana."
CONTACT: Skinner, (765) 494-5920.
NOTE TO JOURNALISTS: Photographers and videographers are welcome to be in the studio for the first broadcast on Wednesday (9/6). Please contact WBAA in advance at (765) 494-5920.
