Purdue sponsors forum for budding entrepreneursJournalists are invited to attend the first ever Entrepreneurs' Forum on Friday (9/1), sponsored by Purdue's Office of Technology Commercialization. Each month, the event will feature advice from successful entrepreneurs, investors and others who work with start-up companies. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with business owners and learn from shared experiences. Friday's Entrepreneurs' Forum begins at noon at Stewart Center, Room 322, with guest speaker Robert Machen, president and chief operating officer of Trylon Corp. Machen's brief presentation, "Lessons Learned in Starting and Running Companies," will be followed by an open discussion. Trylon Corp. is a pioneer in the field of medical endoscopy, using chemical light for anatomic illumination. This California-based company has recently developed PapSure, an adjunct product to the Pap smear for cervical screening. Jerry Ehrlich: "Managing Growth." Ehrlich, president, chairman and chief executive officer of Lafayette's Wabash National Corp., kicks off the regular Friday series of talks by leaders in various professional fields. Reporters are asked to refrain from asking questions, videotaping or taking photographs during the lecture, but may do so during the student question-and-answer sessions.
