Appointments and promotions

–  Matt Falker was hired as assistant director of Purdue Musical Organizations, effective Tuesday (8/1). Falker will direct PMO's University Choir and assist in directing PMO Express. He comes from Culver City, Calif., where he taught at the Hamilton High School Academy of Music, a Los Angeles Unified School District music magnet program, and directed Jazz Incorporated, the academy's award-winning vocal jazz ensemble. Falker received his bachelor's degree in jazz piano from Western Michigan University, and his master's degree in vocal jazz from the University of Southern California.

–  Frank Kuntz was hired as assistant director of Purdue Musical Organizations, effective Tuesday (8/1). Kuntz will assist in directing PMO University Choir as well as the Purduettes. He comes from Bigfork, Mont., where he worked as a humorist, pianist, educator, film producer and composer. He has performed at Six Flags Over Texas, the Delta Queen Steamboat, Durango Colorado's Diamond Circle Theater, and many colleges, state fairs and conventions throughout the country. Kuntz received his doctorate in music education from Arizona State University.

–  Julie Silver was hired in May as public relations and promotions coordinator for Purdue Musical Organizations. Silver is developing and coordinating publicity for PMO ensembles and performances, creating and developing PMO publications, and coordinating electronic promotions such as the PMO Web site. A native of Lafayette, Silver has been with Purdue for three years and has a bachelor of science degree in computer graphics from Purdue's School of Technology.
