Purdue to award the first German-international MBAs

On July 7, 21 students will walk across a stage in Hannover, Germany to receive master's degrees in industrial administration from the Krannert Graduate School of Management. Last year, Krannert signed a 10-year contract to establish the first German International Graduate School of Management (GISMA).

While other stateside schools have weekend and summer business programs overseas, GISMA is the first Purdue class to graduate from a full-time, American MBA program in Europe.

Twelve members of the first graduating class are German citizens, while others are from Canada, China, England, Estonia, Greece, India, Mexico and Turkey.

On hand for the ceremonies will be Purdue President Steven C. Beering and Sigmar Gabriel, the prime minister of Niedersachsen, Germany. CONTACT: Gerald J. Lynch, associate professor of economics and associate director of the Center for International Business Education and Research, (765) 494-4388, lynch@mgmt.purdue.edu.
