Appointments and promotions

– Two Purdue staff members have accepted appointments as assistant directors in personnel services. Brent Bowditch is assistant director for compensation and benefits. Pam Nesbitt is assistant director for employment. Bowditch had been the senior team leader for academic human resources for the past three years and had been an associate director of budget and fiscal planning. Nesbitt has been the team leader for the areas of Student Services, International Programs, Space Management and Academic Scheduling and the Graduate School.

Faculty and staff honors

– Matthew P. Stephens, associate professor of industrial technology, is the 16th recipient of the Frederick L. Hovde Faculty Fellow Award. He has been a Faculty Fellow at Hillenbrand Hall for the past three years. Selection criteria included positive attitude, initiative, participation in hall programs, creativity and contribution to hall morale. The Faculty Fellows program was initiated by former Purdue President Frederick L. Hovde in 1965 to give students and faculty opportunities for out-of-class contact. There are 170 faculty and staff involved in the program in the undergraduate residence halls.
