March 3, 2000 Campus activities A listing of the more than 600 student organizations at Purdue is available on the World Wide Web. A link to the listings is under the student life section of Student Services Information on the Web. Student organizations are arranged by category and alphabetically. Each student organization contains the organization's name, phone number and e-mail address of the head of the organization. Some organizations have links to their own Web sites. Purdue's AIM Summer Research Program is accepting applications for the eight-week session June 5 through July 28. African-American, Hispanic or Native American undergraduate students selected for the program will conduct research projects under the direction of Purdue faculty. Participants will receive a $3,300 stipend and must provide for their own living expenses. Applications should be submitted as soon as possible. Student registration for the 2000 summer session and fall semester will begin Monday, March 6. Students should make an appointment with their academic advisers unless their school provides special instructions for registration. Summer session module 1 begins May 15; module 2 begins June 12; and module 3 begins July 10. Fall semester begins Aug. 21. Faculty and staff honors Purdue's Department of Personnel Services has earned a Midwest Best Practices Award from the College and University Personnel Association. The award honors Purdue's Division of Housing and Food Service Human Resource Office for recruitment and hiring initiatives undertaken to address a critical shortage of hourly service and food service employees. Human Resource Director Jenny Gough and Human Resource Specialist Gayle Roswarski will accept the award at the association's Southern and Midwest Joint Conference in Myrtle Beach, S.C., this month.
