February 25, 2000 Photographer to lecture on South African portraitsWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Peter Glendinning, a professional photographer and professor of art at Michigan State University, will share with a Purdue University audience slides of a series of portraits he took in South Africa. His lecture and slide presentation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, March 3, in Room 202, Stewart Center. The event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Glendinning's work has been shown in over 60 gallery and museum exhibitions around the country. He has been on the faculty at Michigan State since 1978 and has published numerous articles on the art and craft of photography in both professional and popular journals. The lecture is part of a three-day visiting artist workshop that Glendinning is conducting for students and faculty in art and design classes in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts.
