TV magazine's March, April programs wrap up season

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – "Purdue: A Closer Look," the university's weekly television news and feature magazine, continues on The Purdue Channel in Greater Lafayette and on WFYI TV-20, the Public Broadcasting Service affiliate in Indianapolis, with three programs to conclude this season's series.

Each half-hour program includes a campus news update, feature segments and a studio interview. In Greater Lafayette and on Purdue's West Lafayette campus, the program is seen at noon Monday and Friday and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on The Purdue Channel (Insight Communications Channel 5; University Residences Television Antenna System Channel 15; and Purdue Cable Network Channel 4).

On WFYI, the series is broadcast at 11:30 a.m. Saturdays.

The series is presented jointly by the Division of Instructional Services, the Office of University Relations and the Agricultural Communication Service. Co-hosts are Beth Forbes, news coordinator in Ag Communications, and Greg Zawisza, director of special projects in University Relations.

In addition to the local cable telecasts and Indianapolis broadcasts, the program is seen at various times on cable outlets around the state.

Below are Greater Lafayette cable telecast weeks and topics for this season's final three programs (the WFYI broadcast dates are in parentheses):

• Feb. 28-March 3 (March 25) – Purdue management expertise goes international; perspectives and reflections on the Purdue presidency from President Steven C. Beering; a visit to Ishmail Fitness Center.

• March 6-10 (April 1) – An update on campus transformation; the serious work of CERIAS, the Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security, with Steve Hare, director of information technology; careers in agriculture off the farm.

• March 13-17 (April 8) – The planned Creative and Performing Arts Center for the West Lafayette campus; a visit with Krannert School of Management Dean Richard Cosier; the Purdue North Central campus presents an outdoor sculpture exhibit.
