Purdue Fire Department offers free CPR classes

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue University Fire Department is sponsoring three separate American Heart Association cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) classes this month, open at no cost to Purdue faculty, staff and their immediate families.

Classes will be held at the department's DeMent Fire Station on Third Street.

The first session, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 16, will focus on adult CPR and obstructed airways.

Two classes are planned for Saturday, Feb. 19. A morning session on adult CPR and obstructed airways will be held from 8 a.m. to noon, and an afternoon session from 1 to 5 p.m. will cover both adult and pediatric CPR and obstructed airways.

Enrollment is limited, and preregistration is required by noon two days before each class. For more information or to register, call the Purdue Fire Department at (765) 494-6919.
