Possible method to clean up MTBE pollutionReynaldo Barreto, an associate professor of chemistry at Purdue's North Central campus, has developed an experimental method for removing the gasoline additive MTBE from polluted water. He will discuss his work in March, during a meeting of the American Chemical Society. Asante's talk is part of the Black Cultural Center's Spring 2000 Cultural Arts Series. He is a professor and chairman of the Department of African American Studies at Temple University. He also created the first doctorate program in African-American studies at a major university. At 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, a banquet will feature wines from Indiana wine growers selected specifically to accompany the meal.
