Alumni association coordinating Outback Bowl trips

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue Alumni Association is coordinating several plans to help football fans watch the Boilermakers in the Outback Bowl in Tampa, Fla., on Jan. 1.

Lawrence Preo, executive director, said the association has worked out five packages with Alumni Holidays sports marketing group that will provide Purdue alumni and other fans with hotel accommodations, game tickets, transportation to and from the stadium, and other extras. There will be four-night and two-night plans with accommodations in St. Petersburg. The four-night plans have optional airfare. The prices range between $545 for the two-night package to $1,395 for the deluxe four-night stay.

Information about the tours and pricing is available by calling (765) 496-6275 or 1-800-930-3093 or on the World Wide Web.

"We have arranged an exciting program for Boilermaker fans in St. Petersburg at a variety of deluxe hotels," Preo said. "In addition to the customary attractions of the area – beautiful Tampa Bay, sandy beaches, Busch Gardens, golf and tennis – we are particularly pleased to include a special pep rally featuring the 'All-American' Marching Band."

The plans with airfare will leave from Indianapolis International Airport and include transportation from the airport to the hotel in St. Petersburg. All plans include a game-day tailgate party with buffet and beverages, Outback Bowl name badge, luggage tags, stadium cushion and poncho.
