Student Union Board Veterans Day activities

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue Student Union Board will conduct a Veterans Day program in the Purdue Memorial Union on Thursday, Nov. 11.

Educational discussions will be conducted in the main lounge starting at 2:30 p.m. Veterans, faculty members and students first will discuss "Women and Minorities in War and in the Military," and at 3:30 p.m., discussions will begin on "War and Literature."

A veterans reception will start at 4:30 p.m., with refreshments and entertainment by Purdue Musical Organizations. At 5:15 p.m., ceremonies will begin in the Great Hall of the Union. Members of American Legion Post 11 will perform a 21-gun salute. The union staff also will rededicate the Memorial Cross in the floor of the Great Hall and will unveil a plaque explaining the significance of the inlaid cross.
