Appointments and promotions

– Tom Jordan, professor of weed science in the Department of Botany and Plant Pathology, has been named program leader for agriculture and natural resources and assistant director of the Purdue Cooperative Extension Service. Jordan fills the position formerly held by David Petritz, who became Extension director in July. Jordan's new duties will include maintaining a competitive edge for Indiana agricultural communities, ensuring that agriculturists have accurate and timely information, and creating an awareness of agriculture with the general public. He also will work with farmers to help them comply with state and national environmental regulations.

Campus activities

– The Mademoiselle Life-O-Matic tour will come the Purdue Memorial Mall on Nov. 4 and 5. Events will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Activities include a Wellness Central Tent and a display by JobDirect.com, one of the country's leading online employment services. The event is sponsored by the Student Wellness Office of the Student Health Center.
