Krannert dean to be guest of Lake County Purdue Club

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The new dean of Purdue University's Krannert School of Management will be the featured speaker at a banquet to recognize some of Lake County's business and industry leaders.

The Purdue Club of Lake County will sponsor its annual Business and Industry Banquet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at the Center for Visual and Performing Arts, Munster. Richard Cosier, dean and Leeds Professor of Management, will be the featured speaker.

The club will recognize the accomplishments of four Lake County businessmen during the event: John Wycoff of Wycoff Hybrids; James Giannini of James S. Giannini and Associates; Jack Klee of Temple Pharmacy; and Jerry Paucak of Mighty Mills Supply Co.

Cosier became dean at Purdue in July. During his previous six years as dean of the business school at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Cosier worked to improve the curriculum and restructured the MBA program. He established the JC Penney Leadership Center, the traveling Oklahoma Business Outlook Panel and the Oklahoma Business Conference, which has featured speakers such as Michael Dell, chief executive officer and chairman of the board of Dell Computer Corp., and Ted Turner, vice chairman of Time Warner Inc.

Cosier, originally from Jackson, Mich., received his doctorate in business administration from the University of Iowa and specialized in organizational behavior and management theory as well as statistical design and analysis. He received his master's in business administration from Loyola University in Chicago and his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University.
