October 22, 1999 Extension organizations elect officersWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service associations and an honorary fraternity installed new officers during the annual Extension Service conference Oct. 19-21 at Purdue. The organizations and their officers are: Indiana Extension Educators Association Carol Turner, Vigo County, consumer and family sciences educator, president; Mike Ferree, Henry County Extension director, vice president; Jeff Holland, Monroe County youth educator, secretary; Bill Rice, Hamilton County agriculture and natural resources educator, treasurer; and Vlaynnda Slack, Whitely County Extension director, past president. Officers of associations within IEEA are: The new officers of Epsilon Sigma Phi, the Indiana chapter of the national honorary Extension fraternity, are: Mark Merkel Adams County Extension director, president; Glenna Hanks Wade, Lake County consumer and family sciences educator, vice president; Janet Gordon, district director, secretary; Beverly Morgan, Huntington County consumer and family sciences educator, treasurer; Alan Ader, Parke County Extension director, past president; and Floyd Branson, assistant director of the Purdue Cooperative Extension Service, annalist. The new officers of the Purdue Cooperative Extension Specialists Association are: Tom Jordan, specialist in the Department of Botany and Plant Pathology, president; Natalie Carroll, 4-H youth specialist, president-elect; Alan Miller, specialist in the Department of Agricultural Economics, treasurer; Jane Frankenberger, water quality specialist in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, secretary; and Linda Mason, specialist in the Department of Entomology, past president.
