October 8, 1999 Purdue seminar targets workplace violence preventionWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Are you safe from violence in your workplace? Purdue's Continuing Engineering Education Program is offering a seminar next month that can help answer the question and provide strategies for risk assessment and prevention. The two-day program takes participants through a seven-step process designed to help organizations assess the risk for violence in the workplace, as well as reduce the gravity of harm and enhance recovery should an incident occur. The seminar will originate from Room 268 in the Potter Engineering Center on the West Lafayette campus and be broadcast over the Indiana Higher Education Telecommunications System from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 8 and from 10 a.m. to noon Nov. 12. The fee is $185 per person, and the registration deadline is Oct. 22.
