Wellness expert part of 'Learning Lunch Hours'

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue WorkLife Program will sponsor a presentation by Sandy Queen, founder and director of Lifeworks, at noon Wednesday, Oct. 6, in Room 202, Stewart Center.

The presentation, "Lighten Up," is part of the Learning Lunch Hour series that runs through Nov. 17.

Queen heads the training and consulting firm that specializes in helping people take a better look at their lives through humor, laughter and play. She has developed many programs in the areas of stress reduction, humor, children's wellness and self-esteem.

Queen also will present a 90-minute workshop at 3 p.m. Oct. 6 in Room 302, Stewart Center. She will give a public lecture, "Laughter: A Family Affair" at 7 p.m. Oct. 6 in the Harrison High School auditorium. Registration is required for either workshop. Call (765) 496-6334 to register.

The Learning Lunch Hour series begins Sept. 30 with "The Employee-Friendly Workplace" with David Thompson, coordinator of the WorkLife Program. The other topics are "Lighten Up" with Queen on Oct. 6; "Spend Yourself Rich" on Oct. 13; "Who's Caring for the Kids" on Oct. 20; "Walk Your Way to Wellness" on Oct. 27; "The Oscar-Meyer Generation" on Nov. 3; "The Science of Play for Overworked Professionals" on Nov. 10; and "All Stressed Up for the Holidays" on Nov. 17.
