Jon Harbor, professor of earth and atmospheric sciences, and Shilpam Pandey, a staff member who works with Harbor, Bernie Engel, professor of agricultural and biological engineering, and Kyoung Jae Lim, a master's student in agricultural and biological engineering, received a Horwood Critique honorable mention prize last month at the society's annual conference in Chicago. The award was given for a paper describing their work to develop an Internet-based analysis tool that planners can use to assess the long-term hydrologic impacts of urban sprawl.
