Sept. 17: In-Field Diagnostic Training Workshop The Purdue Agronomy In-field Diagnostic Training Workshop will have more than 2,000 small-plot demonstrations that illustrate insect, weed, disease, fertilizer and cultural problems common to corn, soybeans, alfalfa and wheat. It is intended for farmers and the people who service them. Registration is $90, and continuing education/certification credits are available. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Purdue Agronomy Research Center, 4540 U.S. 52 W, West Lafayette. Sept. 29: Project Equality Educators and community representatives interested in sexual assault prevention education for youths and youth organizations will be interested in attending a training session for "Project Equality." The curriculum teaches students in grades 7-12 about respect, communication, healthy relationships and safety. The free training will be Wednesday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hancock County 4-H Building in Greenfield. Sept. 30: Sipac Foresters' Tour Professional foresters are invited to hear about red oak underplanting, controlled burning, site productivity and other topics at the Southern Indiana Purdue Agricultural Center (SIPAC) Foresters' Tour. Demonstrations of light-on-land logging equipment and mechanized harvesting will also be featured. Cooperators for the event are the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry, U.S. Forest Service, Indiana Society of American Foresters and Kimball International Inc. The day will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at 4 p.m., and continuing education credits are available. A $25 registration fee, which includes lunch and refreshment breaks, is due by Sept. 27 to Steve Winicker at PO Box 77, North Judson, IN 46366. SIPAC is at 11371 Purdue Farm Road in Dubois, Ind.
