Fundamentals of Engineering exam callout scheduledWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- A callout for students eligible to take the Fundamentals of Engineering Examination in October will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, in Room 129 of the Electrical Engineering Building.Procedures to register for the exam and laws governing registration of engineers in various states will be discussed. Students are not required to attend the callout session. The examination is the first step a student must take in his or her progress to become a professional engineer. Registration as a professional engineer protects the public by ensuring that engineers have met certain standards of competency in education. Those students who expect to receive their engineering degree in December are eligible to take the Oct. 30 exam. Application forms for the exam will be available beginning Tuesday, Sept. 7, from the individual engineering school offices and should be returned to those offices by 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16. Applications must be accompanied by a check for $20 made out to the Engineer's Board.
