13 executives to lecture at Krannert Forum this fall

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Thirteen business leaders from corporations across the country will focus on topics ranging from electronic commerce to organizational structure as speakers for Purdue University's Krannert Executive Forum this fall.

While on campus, the executives will dine with students, meet with faculty of the Krannert Graduate School of Management, and tour teaching and research facilities.

The forum meets from 11:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. each Friday in the Krannert Building Auditorium. The lectures, which began in 1973, are part of an undergraduate class but are open to the public as seating permits.

Dates, speakers and topics are:

  • Sept. 3. Robert L. Koch II, president and chief executive officer, Koch Enterprises Inc., Evansville, Ind. "Raising the Bar."

  • Sept. 10. Phillip H. Fauver, president, chief executive officer, and chairman, EMPLOYEASE, Atlanta. "Building a Winning Organization."

  • Sept. 17. Charles Ludwig, president of GIL Technologies, Collierville, Tenn. "Managing the High-Technology Company."

  • Sept. 24. Robert J. Warren, vice president and treasurer, Diebold Inc., North Canton, Ohio. "Welcome to the Running Game."

  • Oct. 1. George T. Muller, president and chief operating officer, Subaru of America Inc., Cherry Hill, N.J. "Subaru: Lessons Learned in a Turnaround."

  • Oct. 8. John D. Buck, executive vice president for operations, information services and human resources, Fingerhut Cos. Inc., and president of Fingerhut Business Services, Minnetonka, Minn. "The e-Tooling of Fingerhut."

  • Oct. 15. Julie Wainwright , chief executive officer, Pets.com, San Francisco. "Frenetic, Manic, Chaotic (All Is Under Control, Really, It Is)."

  • Oct. 22. Scott A. Jones, chairman, president and chief executive officer, Escient Inc., Carmel, Ind. "Convergence of the Internet With Home Entertainment."

  • Oct. 29. Lee Runk, president, Forming Technologies MascoTech Inc., Taylor, Mich. "What They Don't Teach You at Krannert."

  • Nov. 5. Steven R. Gailar, group director, venture projects, Sentron Medical Inc., Cincinnati. "Investing Venture Capital in Early Stage Medical Technologies."

  • Nov. 12. Arden S. Bucher, partner, Management Consulting Services for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Indianapolis. "Going Global -- A Consulting Company's Perspective."

  • Nov. 19. John R. Lord, president and chief executive officer, Carrier Corp., Farmington, Conn. "Accelerating Performance in the New Millennium."

  • Dec. 3. Kenneth K. Stuff, president and chief executive officer, Syndicate Systems Inc., Middlebury, Ind. "A Common Sense Approach to Aid Your Career Advancement."
