Purdue offers virtual state fairWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- This year, Web surfers can check some 4-H activities at the Indiana State Fair without leaving their computer.Purdue Cooperative Extension Service staff will take photos of 4-H livestock and companion animal winners, judging events and post them on the World Wide Web along with photos from around the state fairgrounds. The pictures will be displayed on Purdue's State Fair Web site and will also be projected on a screen in the Our Land Pavilion. "We want to celebrate the 4-H exhibitors' achievements on our Web site," said Steve Cain, Purdue Extension Communication Specialist. "This also gives grandparents and other family and friends of 4-H participants the opportunity to check unofficial results," said Cain. "We'll take as many photos as we can, so look for kids from your area daily." In addition to the photographs, Web surfers can share their favorite state fair memory by signing a guest book that will become part of the extension service's Indiana State Fair exhibit.
