free and open to the public, except where noted, and all are open to news media coverage.

EVENTS
Monday, June 21. Black Cultural Center opens in new building at 1100 Third St. Summer
hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Tuesday, June 22. Indianapolis Boiler Mixer for alumni and friends of the School
of Consumer and Family Sciences. 11 a.m.-1 p.m. White River Gardens at the Indianapolis
Zoo. "Bears and Bulls at the Zoo" -- a lunch and presentation about the stock market
by Purdue alumnus Steve Wylam, certified financial planner and partner at Capital Analysts
at the Midwest. Also, Heikki Rinne, head of the Department of Consumer Sciences and

ENTERTAINMENT
Sunday, July 4. Stars and Stripes Concert and fireworks with the Lafayette Symphony
Orchestra. 7 p.m. Slayter Center of Performing Arts. Updated travel directions around
road construction zones near campus are available on the Road Construction Alert Web.
** Tuesday, July 14. Summer Concert Band free concert. 7-9 p.m. Slayter Center of
Performing Arts.
MEETINGS
** Friday, July 9. Board of Trustees. Time to be announced. Room 304 (Anniversary
Drawing Room), Purdue Memorial Union.
OTHER
Monday, July 5. Independence Day holiday. Summer classes not in session, university
offices closed.
