Students to access course, grade information on WebWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Starting Monday (6/7) Purdue University students will be able to check class schedules, grades and financial aid on the World Wide Web.Purdue's Student Services Information Online (SSINFO) system moves to the Web after being a telnet program for eight years. "The goal was to provide convenient anytime, anywhere information access to students," said Thomas B. Robinson, vice president for student services. The address will not be active until Monday. A list of available and planned features for the system can be found at SSINFO web page. Lee Gordon, director of student services computing, said the Web-based information system is the first step in allowing direct information access. "We want students, faculty and staff to have online self-service features," Gordon said. "Students expect to access college information and services just like they already do with online banking and shopping." The SSINFO terminals in Schleman and Hovde halls will be upgraded during the summer and additional terminals will be added in other campus locations.
