Purdue offers agricultural economic information

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The spring issue of the Purdue Agricultural Economics Report says that while the past year was a difficult one for farmers, 1999 appears to be shaping up as a year of only modest improvement.

That's just one of the several articles of interest to people in agriculture that can be found in the free publication.

The quarterly Purdue Agricultural Economics Report offers information designed to help farmers and others involved in agriculture make economic decisions. It is distributed by the Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service and is prepared by the staff of the Department of Agricultural Economics at Purdue.

The March issue of The Purdue Agricultural Economics Report also offers articles on these topics:

  • Lysine: A case study in international price fixing.
  • Critical questions about the farm crisis: Causes and remedies.
  • Food System 21: Beef sector outlook.

The Agricultural Economics Report is available on the Internet as a "portable document folder" or pdf-file. It can be downloaded and printed with Adobe Acrobat Reader freeware. The report also is available at the Extension Service office in each county.
