Winter weather delays spring semester payment date

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The severe snowstorm last weekend has pushed back fee payment and class cancellation deadlines at Purdue University.

Registrar Marlesa Roney said student fees for the spring semester were due Jan. 4, but the weather has interrupted mail delivery for many Indiana communities. "Because of the weather, we have extended the deadline to Monday, Jan. 11," Roney said. "We will not be canceling any student's class schedule until after 5 p.m. Monday."

The delay also means that students who are on class waiting lists will not know about their enrollment status until Tuesday (1/12) morning. Roney said those students should check online via Student Services Information Online (SSINFO) or with their academic advisers on Tuesday. Public SSINFO terminals will be available in the lobby of Elliott Hall of Music. SSINFO also is available on the Internet.

The Bursar's Office and the Office of the Registrar will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (1/9) and will open at 7 a.m. Monday (1/11) for the payment of fees and confirmation of class schedules. Students will be able to check their class schedules this weekend even if their fees have not been paid.
