Extension organizations elect officersWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service associations and an honorary fraternity installed new officers during the annual Extension Service conference Nov. 17-19 at Purdue. The organizations and their officers are:Indiana Extension Educators Association -- Valynnda Slack, Whitely County Extension director, president; Carol Turner, Vigo County consumer and family sciences educator, vice president; Mike Ferree, Henry County Extension director, secretary; Bill Rice, Hamilton County agriculture and natural resources educator, treasurer; and Maureen Cook, Miami County 4-H youth educator, past president. The new officers of Epsilon Sigma Phi, the Indiana chapter of the national honorary Extension fraternity, are: Alan Ader, Parke County Extension director, president; Mark Merkel, Adams County Extension director, vice president; Tom Jordan, Purdue Extension weed science specialist, past president; Glenna Hanks Wade, Lake County consumer and family sciences educator, secretary; Beverly Morgan, Huntington County consumer and family sciences educator, treasurer; and Floyd Branson, assistant director of the Purdue Cooperative Extension Service, annalist. The new officers of the Purdue Cooperative Extension Specialists Association are: Linda Mason, Extension specialist in the Department of Entomology, president; Tom Jordan, Extension specialist in the Department of Botany and Plant Pathology, president-elect; LaDon Swann, Extension specialist in the Department of Animal Sciences, secretary; Karen Rane, Extension specialist in the Department of Botany and Plant Pathology, treasurer; and Al Heber, Extension specialist in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, past president.
