Flu vaccine available on campusWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Staff at Purdue University's Student Health Center will vaccinate students and staff throughout the flu season.Health center staff will be administering flu shots at residence halls this month. The schedule:
Students living in university housing can get a shot at any of the locations by signing up at their hall office and paying a $4 fee, said Dawn Pawlik of Health Promotion Programs. Spouses of students in Married Student Housing will be charged $7 for a flu shot. University Residences is subsidizing the clinics. Free flu shot clinics for faculty, staff and spouses will be conducted from 8:30 a.m. to noon Nov. 16-18 at Freehafer Hall, Room 1-1; and from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Nov. 19 at Schleman Hall, Room 112 (first-floor conference room). The cost of the shots is being paid by the Purdue WorkLife Program. Vaccinations also will be available throughout the flu season, which runs through early March, at the Health Center Urgent Care, ground floor, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. The shots are available without an appointment on a first-come basis. The Purdue WorkLife Program pays for faculty, staff and spouse's shots. Full-time students will be charged $7; part-time students and student spouses will be charged $10.
