Purdue Greeks to fast for charityWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Purdue University fraternity and sorority members will go hungry so others in the Greater Lafayette community can eat during the holiday season.The Purdue Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Association will sponsor a Day of Fasting on Nov. 18. Each chapter is asked to donate the money that would have been spent on meal service that day, said John Matejcak, project coordinator. The funds will be given to the Lafayette Urban Ministry and the Community and Family Resource Center for their annual Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for the citizens of Greater Lafayette.
