Purdue, IU engage in bloody competitionWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Students, alumni and supporters of Purdue and Indiana universities are out for blood between now and Nov. 14.The Central Indiana Regional Blood Center is sponsoring a competition to see which group of campus supporters will donate the most blood between now and Nov. 14. The winner will be announced during the Old Oaken Bucket game in Ross-Ade Stadium on Nov. 21. Last year, Purdue supporters donated 964 units, while IU supporters donated 867. Blood drives are being conducted at several Purdue residence halls between now and Nov. 14. Donations also may be made at the Central Indiana Regional Blood Center's Lafayette office at 1515 Union St. Other blood center offices are in Indianapolis, Bloomington, Anderson, Columbus and Terre Haute.
