Bell missing from Purdue's Ackerman Golf CourseWEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Purdue Police are seeking leads in the theft of a large bell from the Ackerman Golf Course.The 18-inch tall, stainless steel bell was removed from its base sometime between 3 p.m. Oct. 6 and 8 a.m. Oct. 7. The bell, valued at $1,000, was stolen from the fairway of the fifth hole. The bell was installed at the bottom of a hill so that golfers could ring it as they left the area to signal the golfers behind them that the area was clear.
