Campus activities-- The Tenth Annual Purdue Conference on Romance Languages, Literatures and Film will draw about 150 international scholars to campus Oct. 15-17. The events, mostly in Stewart Center, are free to Purdue students and staff. Highlights: The School of Liberal Arts Dean's Lecture by Millicent Marcus, the Mariano DiVito Professor of Italian Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, will be at 5:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, in the Anniversary Drawing Room of the Purdue Memorial Union. The keynote address will be given by Floyd Merrell, Purdue professor of Spanish, at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, in the West Faculty Lounge of the Purdue Memorial Union. The conference is sponsored by the School of Liberal Arts, Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, and the Programs in Comparative Literature, Italian Studies, Film Studies, Jewish Studies, Medieval Studies and Women's Studies.-- Mademoiselle magazine's Hot Life-O-Matic Campus Tour will be at the Purdue Memorial Mall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 15 and 16. The event will feature a Wellness Tent where students can get up-to-date health information and a display by JobDirect.com, the country's leading on-line employment service. A full runway fashion show featuring Purdue students will start at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 16. Health Promotion Programs is coordinating the Purdue stop of the 20-campus tour.
